AMENDMENTS
Intended to be proposed by Mr. KucIIEL to the bill (S. 60) to authorize the construction, operation, and maintenance by the Secretary of the Interior of the Fryingpan-Arkansas project, Colorado, viz:
1 On page 10, after line 5, insert the following new
2 section 8:
3 "SEC. 8. In the construction, operation, and maintenance
'
4 of all facilities authorized by Federal law and under the
5 jurisdiction and supervision of the Secretary of the Interior
6 for the utilization of waters of the Colorado River system, 7 including but not limited to all works autho1ized by this Act, 8 the Secretary of the Interior is directed to comply with
9 the applicable provisions of the Colorado River Compact, 6-26-57-D

1 the Upper Colorado River Basin Compact, the Boulder
Can-2 yon Project Act, the Boulder Canyon Project Adjustment
3 Act, the Colorado River Storage Project Act, the Treaty
4 with the United 1\1:exican States, and any contract lawfully
5 entered into by the United States under any of said Acts,
6 in the storage and release of waters from reservoirs. In the
7 event of the failure of the Secretary of the Interior to so
8 comply, any State of the Colorado River Basin may
main-9 tain an action in the Supreme Court of the United States
10 to enforce the provisions of this section and consent is given
11 to the joinder of the United States as a party in such suit
12 or suits, as a defendant or otherwise."
