För framtida studier hade prototypen kunnat förfinas i kontext till de kommentarer som framkommit under den nuvarande studien. Texten och karaktärerna hade kunnat få mer tid att utvecklas och karaktäriseras, trots att de överlag gjort ett bra jobb i den nuvarande studien.

Det hade varit mycket intressant och relevant att få in mer män i en framtida undersökning, för att samla in mer data. Ännu en intressant faktor hade varit att nå ut mer till individer som inte har samma regelbundna konsumering av BL och Slash och snarare hitta en målgrupp som är mindre investerade i ”fandom” och fanfiction. Hur hade personer som enbart konsumerar mer traditionell media tagit sig an

relationen i prototypen? Finns det skillnad mellan åldersgrupper? Detta är definitivt något man kan undersöka mer.

En av de intressantaste punkterna var hur män uppfattade karaktärernas maskulinitet/femininitet. Att djupare undersöka mäns syn på kön och könsnormer inom media hade varit mycket intressant.

Gruppen av övriga var också mycket intressant. Framtida studier skulle enbart kunna fokusera på minoriteter och deras syn på heteronormativa och normbrytande narrativ och karaktärer. Hur uppfattar de relationer och vad tilltalar dem med BL? Vad tilltalar dem inte? Att enbart fokusera på den gruppen i framtiden hade kunnat ge HBTQ-personer möjligen att uttrycka hur de uppfattar media och populärkultur samt hur de tar till sig romanser och normer.

Studien har inte kommit fram till en stark slutsats eller hittat avvikande data, däremot har den lagt grunden för att man skulle kunna undersöka specifika punkter djupare. Normer och HBTQ-representation i media kommer alltid vara relevant för att förstå hur folk uppfattar normkritiskt/normbrytande material i media och det finns stora möjligheter att utveckla studien vidare för att samla mer data.
