Cortez, Colorado Dear Mr. Keown:

In compliance with your verbal request of November 29, 1951, we are enclosing two prints of our Map No. 71-406-8, on which we have superimposed the approximate location of reservoir sites on the Upper Dolores River and its tributaries. Some data of a reconnaissance nature was obtained at

of these sites during the period 1939-1942. These data are shown in the attached tabulation. No recent studies of the Dolores River stream system above the McPhee Reservoir site have been made by personnel of this office.

All of this material is the result of the roughest type of reconnaissance field surveys and you are again cautioned not to use any of it as the basis for the design of a structure,

Mr. H. G. Keown, Secretary

Dear Mr. Keown:

A recheck of our data on the Bear Creek reservoir sites

shows that we never obtained topography for them. The La Plata

and Rico 15 minute U.S.G.S. quadrangle sheets at the scale 1:62,500

were the basis for our figures of potential storage at these sites.

Very truly yours,
