Dear all,

Please find in the attachments a description and schema for the course module Analys, reflektion och presentation 1 HT, 2hp. The course will take place in weeks 49-50 and will end with an examination on Monday 07/12. You will also participate in the presentations of the third year students (‘Green Light’) on 10-11 December, as a mandatory part of the course.

All scheduled activities as well as individual work/preparations to presentations on 07/12 are mandatory and are a requirement to pass the course.

Also find below detailed information about weeks 49 and 50, and what to prepare leading up to final examination on Monday 07/12 (at the bottom of this e-mail, is already a schedule for the day). Should you have questions and observations, I suggest that we reserve some time after the final presentations of Smycke 1 (on Friday 27/11), so that we also go through the below information and structure together!

Thank you!

/Beatrice

Guidelines: Analys, reflektion och presentation 1 HT

The following information concerns week 49 (preparation for Examination) and week 50 (Examination day).

IN WEEK 49 you prepare for Examination on the 07/12. This is time for your own in-depth reflection on your development this semester by bringing out all try-outs and work in all your projects (weeks 36 and 44 of Utblick & Utforskande 1; Introduktion i Ädellabs verkstäder 1; Introduktion i allmänna metallverkstan; Introduktion i skulpturverkstan; Hate: utmanande materialiteter; Smycke:

ämnesorienterat individuellt projekt 1), for a holistic perspective on your own learning.

For this you have the rooms S7+S8 and A7 at your disposal from 3/12 (to be shared with BA2 and BA3, who will be preparing for examinations as well).

During the week you will prepare for presentation and discussion on examination day (see below).

Please take the time to use all week for reflection, testing, discussing through feedback, and trying out presentation methods that reflect the relationship between the different aspects in your work/projects, the public/viewer, spatial setting, the room you will present in, etc.

To support you with this, you will start the week on Monday 30/11 by being introduced to and work with the DasArts feedback method, under the guidance of MA2 students Teresa Borgelin and Hannah Heyman. Hannah and Teresa, who use this method in their own practices at the Masters level, will follow up soon with info about schedule and preparation for the workshop on 30/11.

And on Thursday 03/12 you will havetutorials with Sissi Westerberg, to go deeper into discussion of how to prepare for examination (see below) and how to present your work and learning from this semester.

ON MONDAY THE 07TH OF DECEMBER IN WEEK 50 you have Examination, where we will discuss how this semester has been for you. The aim is for you to gain an understanding of your own

process through your own work, as well as through the other student´s progress, so that you, through discussion and feedback with the teachers, are able to see what you have achieved so far, where you should be challenged and what you could develop.

Because of the current Covid-19 guidelines, we will follow the 8 persons limit in one room at the same time. To do this, and still manage to have an overview of your physical work and an in-depth discussion, we will split the class in two smaller groups:

Group A will present in the morning in S7+S8, from 9.00 – 11.30. In real life.

Group B will present in the afternoon in A7, from 12.30 – 15.00. In real life.

Between 15.30 – 16.15 a wrap-up group meeting with teachers will take place on Zoom.

Examinations will be in the format of “round table” discussions. Set up a table(s) for each student with all the student´s work from this semester on it and around it. Use also the walls close to the table, the floor, etc. if needed. Think of how you use the space to support the presentation of your work and processes. You should bring everything you have made/been working on/thinking about.

Bring forward and reflect upon what you believe is the best piece and the most problematic piece.

The presenting student´s table(s) is going to be the centre of attention. Arrange chairs so that the students in your group (x3) and teachers (x4) can sit at a safe distance (2 meter) from each other, while also being able to see your table(s) and access the work. You have the rooms S7+S8 (group A) and A7 (group B) at your disposal.

We will have hand-sanitizer and gloves for handling the work.

Face-masks will also be available for those who want.

It is important that distance of 2 m from each other is maintained at all times, especially paying attention to it when discussing and viewing the work.

Your teachers Beatrice, Sissi, Karo and Magnus will all join and lead the day.

Individual examinations:

Each examination starts with 10 minutes of student´s presentation and open discussion together with classmates. Please prepare to give a verbal presentation where you introduce the group to the experiences you´ve had this semester. Focus will not be on details in all individual pieces (this you have done with the teachers in the different projects) but more to look at your development in general. Bring to the discussion what was extra challenging for you, as well as what your biggest learning is and how you can use this in the future. Each classmate brings at least one question to the discussion. In this part of the examination the teachers will be quiet.

This is followed by a closed discussion with the teachers alone (if you want you can ask one of your classmates to stay and make notes for you). The aim for this part of the examination is for you and the teachers to go deeper into your process and learning.

To sum it up, each individual examination is split as follows:

10 minutes: individual verbal presentation + questions and discussion with your classmates (teachers stay quiet)

20 minutes: closed, in-depth discussion (only presenting student + teachers. You can ask a classmate to be present to take notes)

Evaluation day will end with a short group meeting with the whole class and teachers, so think about if there is something you would like to discuss. Please note: since the BA2 have their evaluations on
